Stephen and Greg Spend Summer at Boeing Seattle as part of NSF GOALI Research

IMG_2041Stephen traveled to Seattle to conduct experiments at the shock physics lab in Boeing Seattle with Gregory Freihofer and the shock physics team: Dr. Housen Bill Sweet, Dr. Damazo and Wayne Campbell, These experiments take the NSF funded GOALI Research on “Developing piezospectroscopic adhesives and coatings” and tests it in the dynamic region. The high strain rates experiments were conducted with the shock physics lab’s split Hopkinson bar and the lab’s portable spectrometer.
